Keeping a cool head in heated times

As we head into the heart of summer and another busy Mediterranean season, it looks like this is a year of last-minute decisions.

Across our industry, we’ve seen guests waiting longer to confirm their plans, charters being booked closer to departure, and travel decisions made almost at the final hour. It’s obviously the result of the uncertainty created by geopolitics, shifting economies, and a constantly changing world. Many people are struggling to make cool-headed decisions.

And yet, some things remain reassuringly constant.

A trip to Mallorca is always a good idea, and so is stepping aboard a yacht.

Perhaps that’s because both offer something increasingly valuable: the opportunity to disconnect from the noise. Whether it’s a week exploring hidden coves, a long lunch overlooking the sea, or simply watching the sunset from the deck, these moments remind us that not everything has to move at the heated pace of the news cycle.

In this issue, you won’t find any of those articles designed to trigger your fears, and we hope you enjoy reading this issue from your terrace at home, the aft deck, the beach club, or another tranquil space.

While many of you will be enjoying the Mediterranean sunshine and, at times, be challenged to beat the heat, I’m spending July, August, and part of September trying to stay warm. This summer takes me to the Arctic. You can read more about that adventure elsewhere in this issue and in the next two issues.

Wherever this summer finds you, I hope it brings calm seas, memorable journeys, and plenty of opportunities to get away from it all.
