OYSTERS

Oysters the food of love – a powerful aphrodisiac . Did you know there is more iodine in an oyster than in half a kilo of liver?  Many people are deficient in iodine. Why is iodine important? It is essential for the regulation of the thyroid hormone, which controls your metabolism (how many calories you burn every day) , the body also needs iodine to support a healthy brain , therefore mental acuity and function and bone development.

The body does not make iodine so it is essential to obtain it through nutrition try eating fresh oysters twice a week . Not only will they help raise your IQ but also your libido!

 

GUT BACTERIA

Did you know the inside of your stomach is run by bacteria. Keeping them happy is optimum to a balanced health. You should be going for two stools a day ideally and certainly one. This healthy bacteria helps your body process your food and nutrients and get rid of the waste. If bacteria poop is left to build up in the body it infiltrates the blood and causes all kinds of damage and liver problems.

Keep your gut bacteria happy by eating good quality pro biotic – not those from highly processed dairy supermarket goods. You can make your own, kefir or fermented foods like sauerkraut.

Healthy bacteria in your belly means a happier body and more energy.

Yes indeed we begin a weekend yoga workshop on SUNDAY MARCH 1 in the studio at STP with the lovely Agnes from Earth yoga. She will be doing a workshop with yoga and breathing techniques so whatever your level do please come and join us ?
