Sealine International today announced that world-renowned yacht designer Bill Dixon will be working with the group’s in-house design team to create a new range of Sealine models, the first of which will be launched in the autumn of 2014.
Sealine, the former UK boatbuilder acquired by Germany’s Hanse Group in September 2013, offers a range of luxury motoryachts from 11m-18m (35ft-60ft). Most production takes place at Hanse’s yard in Greifswald on the German Baltic Sea.
“During its 40-year history Sealine has gained a well-deserved reputation for creating award-winning production motoryachts that break boundaries with their cutting edge designs,” says HanseYachts’ CEO Jens Gerhardt.
“We believe that Bill, a British designer, is the perfect choice for the Sealine brand in helping to create a range of models that will remain true to the Sealine ethos of space, light and freedom with an emphasis on practical functionality.
Bill Dixon began his career in the 1980s, working as a naval architect at Angus Primrose Design until the death of its founder. He now heads leading international design studio Dixon Yacht Design, whose clients include production builders such as Moody, Johnson, Azimut and Pearl, as well as custom sail and motoryacht builders worldwide.
His studio is based in Swanwick, near Southampton.
