In today’s charter industry, success is no longer about where you operate. It’s about how you operate.

The Mediterranean may be divided by coastlines, but today’s charter industry is becoming increasingly connected. Guests compare destinations more easily than ever before, technology is reshaping the customer journey, and businesses across the region are adapting to many of the same commercial realities.

Across the region, charter businesses are asking remarkably similar questions. How can profitability be protected without relying on deeper discounts? How can businesses attract and retain qualified staff? Where should marketing budgets be invested? And perhaps most importantly, what will tomorrow’s charter client expect from the companies they choose?

Looking at the data provided by the yacht charter booking platform Booking Manager, Spain records the lowest average weekly charter price at €5,840, while Croatia averages €6,411, with Greece (€6,281) and Italy (€6,213) close behind. Discounting varies even more dramatically, from 11% in Spain to 36% in Croatia. Models such as the Lagoon 42, Lagoon 46, and Bavaria Cruiser 46 continue to rank among the most sought-after yachts across Mediterranean charter destinations. Different regions. Similar demand. The real challenge lies in balancing occupancy, profitability, and long-term growth.

As fleets continue to expand across both the Western and Eastern Mediterranean, competition is becoming increasingly international. A company based in Mallorca is no longer competing only with its neighbours. The same customer may also be considering Croatia, Greece, Italy or Türkiye before making a booking. The result is an industry that has become more connected than ever before.

“Why not bring in world-class experts to help the industry tackle the challenges ahead? That’s how the Summit was born, a space where global industry leaders could share insights, strategies, and solutions that would benefit the entire charter community.” Martina Hršak, COO at MMK Systems, Organiser at Booking Manager Summit

Booking Manager launched an initiative that was new not only for the company, but for the yacht charter industry. Rather than focusing on destinations or tourism promotion, Booking Manager Summit brings together charter professionals to discuss the operational and commercial decisions shaping the industry’s future. The programme explores subjects such as revenue optimisation, digital marketing, artificial intelligence, customer behaviour, leadership, branding, sales strategy and operational efficiency, topics that affect charter businesses regardless of where they operate.

It is a space where experts don’t just lecture, they engage. Whether it’s a focused workshop, a provocative panel, or an insightful lecture, the goal is always the same: to give attendees clear, actionable takeaways they can implement as soon as they’re back at their base. That international exchange has become increasingly valuable, as sharing different approaches often leads to better solutions.

“Every single year I visit the event, because this market is changing every day. If there is a change in the market, this is the place you will find out about it first. You can adapt your business to new trends and be the first among the charter companies to do it and stand out.” Alexandr Rudoi, Chief of B2B Charter Sales at Five Seasons Yachting

The conversations extend well beyond the lecture rooms, continuing during networking sessions, informal discussions, and collaborative workshops throughout the three-day programme.

As the yacht charter industry continues to adapt to new challenges, one thing remains clear: the businesses that continue to grow are often those willing to learn from outside their own markets.

From 9–11 December 2026, charter professionals will once again gather in Zagreb for the 8th edition of the Booking Manager Summit. The Summit is expected to welcome more than 300 industry professionals for three days of 60+ workshops, panel discussions and networking focused on helping charter businesses prepare for the seasons ahead.

The Booking Manager Summit is designed for companies who want to think differently, move smarter, and stay ahead.
