Mallorca has long attracted people ready for a new chapter. After years of working internationally, many arrive on the island with the desire to slow down, put down roots, and build something meaningful.

A large number come from industries such as yachting, tech, finance, and international hospitality. They bring global experience, strong professional expertise, and often the ambition to create something of their own.

Yet turning an idea into a business on the island is not always straightforward.

Success in Mallorca is rarely determined by a good concept alone or professional experience. More often, the deciding factor is something less visible but far more valuable: the right network.

Understanding the local business landscape, meeting trusted partners, and receiving the right introductions can make a significant difference. Without those connections, even highly experienced professionals can spend years navigating the ecosystem.

This challenge led to the creation of Mallorca Entrepreneurs.

Founder Jessika Ekman, a Swedish-born event organiser who speaks six languages and has lived in Mallorca for more than 25 years, recognised a recurring pattern: talented professionals arriving with ideas and ambition but lacking access to the local business ecosystem.

What began in November 2023 as a small Facebook group quickly evolved into a growing international community. Within a year, the initiative expanded into the Mallorca Entrepreneurs member club, bringing together professionals from more than 25 nationalities across a wide range of industries. The balance is intentional: 40% men and 60% women among the founding members.

Today the community includes entrepreneurs, consultants, investors, and business owners who share an international outlook and an interest in building meaningful professional relationships on the island. The club hosts a minimum of two events per month, ranging from informal breakfasts and networking lunches to evening gatherings designed to encourage genuine conversations and connections.

The next step is even more ambitious.

In May, Mallorca Entrepreneurs will open its first physical hub next to the Palma Tennis Club — a dedicated meeting place for entrepreneurs, founders, and internationally minded professionals on the island.

The hub is designed as a space where ideas are exchanged, partnerships are formed, and new ventures can take shape. More than just a meeting place, it represents a step toward strengthening Mallorca’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and connecting the island’s growing international business community.

With a rapidly expanding network and a physical hub at its centre, Mallorca Entrepreneurs has a clear vision: to position Mallorca as one of Europe’s most attractive destinations for entrepreneurs — a place where international talent, collaboration, and new ventures can thrive.
