4 WAYS TO BURN CHRISTMAS FAT
We consume on average around 3, 500 calories on Christmas day, which is easy to do with all that lovely food around. This equates to roughly 14,500 jumping jacks…..!!! try these tips to burn off excess calories:
A recent t study showed that even just a 6 minute exercise session before a big meal will improve blood glucose control and therefore the food is less likely to be stored as fat. Try a repeated stair climb, body weight squats or step ups and triceps dips. (surges in blood glucose levels are what lead to the belly bulge )
Exposure to cold temperatures whether it is air or water can burn up to 500 calories. It also helps to stabilise blood sugar levels, improve hormone balance, improve sleep quality and enable your body to tap into its fat reserves as fuel. So whether it’s standing outside the bridge on a chilly night or taking a plunge into the sea this could mean wearing less of your Christmas Dinner.
In the Journal of Strength and Conditioning an article published revealed that doing resistance training and cardio burned significantly (ten fold ) more body fat than just resistance training or just cardio.
Your Fat Burning Workout:
push ups 10 reps
High knees 20 reps
alternating lunges 10 reps
jumping jacks 20 reps
squats 20 reps
squat jumps 10 reps
- Short workouts through out the day
When ever you have a chance during the course of the day slip off and perform 10 body weight squats, climb the stairs, but always include some form of physical activity. All that’s necessary is a 1- 2 minute brief burst of exercise to make a difference.
