As part of the Gibraltar Maritime Week programme, a three-day conference is to be held focusing on the territory’s commercial marine and superyacht sectors.
The conference is being organised by the Gibraltar Ship and Yacht Registries and it will be held on July 8-10 on-board the five-star yacht Hotel Sunborn Gibraltar.
Of the three days, the second and third will include particular relevance to yachts. Day 2 will focus on ‘Seafarers and Crew’ and include sessions on the following:
Maritime Labour Convention
Crew Repatriation
Immigration – Crew Changes and Visas
STCW
RYA Crew Training Facilities in Gibraltar
Captain’s Role with Crew
Day 3 has the title of ‘Superyachts’ and will include nine sessions as follows:
World’s Wealth
Superyacht Communication
Superyacht Insurance
Today’s New Builds and the Future
VAT
Engine and Propulsion
Superyacht Certification and Maritime Policy
Maritime Traffic Through Gibraltar
Marina Developments in Gibraltar
Part of the programme on Day 1 will address Port State Control, which, from the Future of Captains and Crew Conference held last week alongside the Palma yacht shows, highlighted this area as a key one for yachts and superyachts.
