Finnish boatbuilder Nautor has ramped up its Swan line to better respond to the current market demand, and four 115-footer currently under construction at its site in Jakobstad, Finland, is a testament of the new strategy in place.

“We have conducted a market research and we know there is a market for the products we do. There is demand for smaller boats and for bigger boats and we have a specific product for these segments,” Enrico Chieffi, Nautor’s VP, told Superyacht Business.

The Finnish sailboat maker invited SB for a two-day tour to its facilities including the Boatbuilding Technology Centre in Jakobstad, the plug and lamination site in Kalby and the Kronoby site that specialises in joinery/wood working and interiors for all the Swan line.

The tour coincided with the launch of hull #1 of its new Swan 115, which is in fact a semi-raised version. Ordered by Leonardo Ferragamo, the yacht is due for delivery on the second week of July.

The company hinted that this would take place during the Swan European Regatta and the Swan 45 World Championship that will take place at the Royal Yacht Squadron in Cowes, in the UK.

Hull 2, 3, and 4 are flush deck models with different layout and customised interiors and delivery is scheduled for June/July 2016.

“We are slowly but continuously growing. We don’t want to make too big of a step, because going bigger is not a simple exercise, but yes we will build bigger yachts,” Chieffi told SB.

The Finish builder said a new project will be unveil at the Monaco Yacht Show and rumours point to be a 130-footer.

The press tour also served to announce a new addition to the Swan line: The Swan 54. The new model is described as a high displacement, stable and powerful sailing boat designed for sailing without a crew.
