Revival began 27 years ago with a system for repairing leather, vinyl and velour used in the aviation industry which then transitioned into nautical use and from here developed into upholstery and cover making. One client succinctly said to us ‘a boat is not a boat without cushions and awnings’ and for this reason Revival has been serving the luxury yachting industry since 1996 from their purpose built factory and showroom in Mallorca. We produce the highest quality in exterior cushions, covers and awnings for vessels across the Baleares, Spain and worldwide.
Boats have become bigger and better since Revival started business and with the onset of the pandemic of 2019 those privileged enough to have a boat have come to appreciate their own space and are making the most of it more than ever before. Subsequently, the refit industry and the chartering of yachts is flourishing and it is a delight to see some of the most prestigious Superyachts not only cruising the waters of the Balearic Islands but also undergoing major refits in Mallorca.
One project recently involved creating and fabricating the exteriors for the beautiful 42m M/Y Callisto, a new build Feadship at Royal Van Lent Shipyard in Holland. Works involved complete exterior seating areas, awnings and winterisation covers together with upholstery and interior work in the cabins and salons. This year we have completed the refit of 38m Moonen M/Y Northlander creating a mix of airy and light colours for the exterior seating, awnings, interior panels, upholstery, blinds, furnishings, carpets, bed and bath linen. Now we are refitting a stunning Viking Yacht, decking it out to withstand some big fishing this coming season.
Our motto has always been that ‘No job is too large or too small’. We have been lucky to meet captains and owners from all corners of the world – each with different visions for their yacht and diverse ways of working. We have learnt to adapt to their requirements and work with sub-contractors and ship builders to overcome challenges. Some projects have a small window and others maybe a year or even two. Since the birth of Revival the technology behind the fabrics and products available to us have developed enormously and we are able to create exteriors that could be indoor or outdoor, that are more than just plain solids and stripes but that are now full of colour, patterns and textures and all able to withstand the elements. We have always focused on comfort and make our cushions bespoke to meet the needs of owners young and elderly, fabricating orthopaedic cushions when necessary. We work closely with Summit furniture and make bespoke cushions for the furniture we supply to our clients. We work with reputable carpet suppliers and marine fitters to create luxurious floorings.
