DANU – Sustainable GRP Replacement Technology

Isle of Man based ExoTechnologies Ltd. has developed a sustainable replacement for the entire GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) market and part of the carbon fibre composite market. GRP cannot be recycled resulting in 250 million kilogrammes of fibreglass going to landfill every year – just in Europe. An even more staggering 43 billion kilogrammes of wind turbine blades will end in landfill by 2050.

DANU composite is made from sustainable fibres and styrene-free resins. DANU can be repeatedly recycled and acts in the circular economy. £7m of investment has been made from private equities. With its daughter company, “Ultimate Boats”, ExoTechnologies has recently launched the world’s first fully recyclable, sustainable and ballistic power boat. This vessel will be used for law enforcement purposes. (See www.scotland.police.uk/what-s-happening/news/2022/june/boat-project-joins-dive-and-marine-unit/)
