Marina Expansion in Póvoa de Varzim

The Municipality of Póvoa de Varzim, a fishing port located 34 kms north of Oporto (Portugal), has undertaken a major investment to expand the leisure harbour built some 20 years ago in the southern part of the port. The new marina will be located on the northern side of the basin and will have a capacity of 200 berths ranging from 6 to 20 metres.

Lindley has been selected for the design, manufacture and installation of this new facility with the supply of floating pontoons, fingers and access bridges built with extruded marine grade aluminum alloy, rotomolded polyethylene floats and composite decks. Concrete was specified for the hammerheads pontoons to enhance protection to berthing area.

Lindley also provided electricity and water modules, as well as emergency and safety equipment, access control gates and all the required accessories for a modern marina. The contract was completed with the supply and installation of the mooring piles and wall guides, in addition to aids to navigation inside the basin. The new infrastructure will be operated by the local Clube Naval Povoense (CNP).
