We are delighted to welcome Senior Retail Charter Broker Hanneke Maljaars, who joins the Ocean Independence team on Monday 15 March in Sussex, UK.

With an impressive yachting career to date, Hanneke’s passion for all things nautical was ignited when crewing on charter yachts in the Mediterranean. Once shore-based in Mallorca her love affair with yachting continued, working as a Charter and Sales Manager for Dolphin Yachts and becoming a firmly established figure within the industry. Moving to the UK, Hanneke joined the ranks of industry stalwarts, Burgess Yachts, as Brokerage Manager within their sales department. Establishing the OceanStyle division, she successfully developed and managed this specialised section of semi-custom and production yachts between 80-140 feet, both for sale and charter.

Following a family career break, Hanneke returned to the fold in earnest. Launching her own online retail business, she also took up residence as Sales Director for a luxury ski chalet company, amassing a loyal client database and utilising her superb networking skills.

However, the draw of yachting has proved too strong, and Hanneke is now excited to re- establish her position within the industry. Whilst still being based in the luxury travel sector, Hanneke has kept her finger on the pulse, remaining up to date with all elements yacht charter processes, contracts, and the yachts themselves. Looking forward to reconnecting with colleagues and forming new relationships across the business, she is ready to make an impact as part of an innovative and active company.
