The pioneering Virtual Valencia Boat Show attracts 143.723 visits in 5 days

21,311 unique visitors and 60% international visitors

The first 100% virtual boat show in the world, Virtual Valencia Boat Showattracted, between the 28th of October and the 1st of November, 143,723 visits, of which 21,311 are unique users from five continents, a figure that the organisers describe as “extremely positive”, taking into account the innovation that this event format represents for the marine sector.

The event has managed to bring together the entire sector in one place thanks to the implementation of 360 technology, and for five days it has held online meetings with the key stakeholders in the sailing and marine environment.

The platform remains open to visitors throughout the year, with a wide range of new boats, engines, accessories and marine services from the leading brands in the sector.

Significant increase in international visitors
If there is one thing that this Virtual Valencia Boat Show has demonstrated, it is the ability of virtual events to cross borders. In fact, the Valencia Boat Show, in its digital edition, received 60% of international visitors and 40% of national visitors.

The ranking of countries of origin of visits is led by Spain with 40% of the total, followed by the United States with 15%, the United Kingdom with 6.42%, France with 6.18%, Russia with 4. 14%, Italy with 3.87% and Greece with 2.32%.

Zineti and Beneteau, the most visited
The most visited stands during the five days of the event were Zineti, specialised in corrosion products, represented by Interwimer, Beneteau Motor, represented by SportNautic, De Antonio Yachts, North Sails and Rodman.

The boats that received the most visits were the Beneteau Flyer 6 Space Deck, the Beneteau 30.1 and the De Antonio D28.

Valuable data for exhibitors
One of the aspects most highly appraised by the exhibitors has undoubtedly been the advanced analytics offered by the platform that allows them to carry out personalised marketing actions based on the client’s profile and interests.

The organisation has already begun to work on optimising the platform, which will offer new functionalities implemented following the valuable feedback from exhibitors, one completed within five days of its launch.

The platform remains open throughout the year, and the rate of visits has been steadily on the rise since it opened on the 28th of October.

“As the organisers, we are as elated as we are exhausted. The level of work involved in recent months to design and execute the virtual platform has been frankly unrepeatable, so first I would like to say a huge thank you to the entire team. The balance is excellent: just having made it happen is already a success. Now we are embarking on the second phase, for which the feedback from our exhibitors is fundamental: the optimisation phase. Initially, we are going to focus on usability and visitor interaction, where the work will be both didactic and technical. In all pioneering technological products, the gap between the user and the tool is quite natural, and it narrows as it progresses with use. Therefore, we are eager to move into and activate the next phase of growth”, says Nacho Gómez-Zarzuela, director of the Valencia Boat Show.

“Virtual Valencia Boat Show reflects the convergence of the marine sector, innovation and the economy of knowledge that make La Marina de València a unique location in the world. In a complicated year we have made a brave and pioneering commitment, and we have been able to put our historic port and our nautical, gastronomic, business and cultural offer on the map. For those who have not yet been able to access the platform, I invite you to do so to discover this project created in València and which is based in La Marina de València, and of course to visit our stand. In addition, thanks to the virtual tour that will continue to be active throughout the year, any visitor can take a virtual walk through our dock”, says Vicent Llorens, general director of Consorcio Valencia 2007, managing body of La Marina de València.

“The experience has been magnificent. This edition of the Virtual Valencia Boat Show has allowed us to reach a global audience and we are already thinking about how to improve ourselves and generate new experiences for the visitor in the future, immersive technologies will be the key”, assures Carlos Pujadas, CEO of Grupo Alfatec.

“At the Unión de Empresas Náuticas, we make a very positive assessment of this virtual edition of the Valencia Boat Show. In 12 editions, we have not only been able to launch a boat show in the city of València, but we have also transformed it and positioned it as one of the leading events for the sale of new boats in the Mediterranean and now we have managed to save an edition that would have been impossible to celebrate, by turning it into the first 100% virtual show in the world. This is a great step for the sector, which from now on has a powerful technological tool to continue working”, said Isabel Gil, president of the Unión de Empresas Náuticas.
