At the recently held Boot Düsseldorf, the Austrian company producing solar catamarans, Silent Yachts, signed an agreement with a shipyard in Ancona, Italy, to produce in their facilities model Silent 60 for the European market. So, from now on, the 60 and 80 feet models will be built in Italy.
Silent Yachts currently has 12 high-end catamarans in production ranging from 55 to 80 feet with a starting price of 1.5 million euros.
These premium-class electric catamarans provide a unique experience at sea, being now possible to live it, as this summer a series of sea trials of the Silent 60 will be held in Mallorca. Send an email to yachtconsultingbcn@gmail.com for more information.
Ice Yachts: Ocean Sailing Catamarans
In early March, Ice Yachts launched the second unit of the Ice Cat 67 catamaran, the biggest sailing multihull ever built in Italy. Designed to circumnavigate the globe, the Ice Cat 67 has the RINA certificate and the most advanced safety equipment, the same used onboard the racing trimarans that participate in the Jules Verne Trophy.
ICE Yachts is a leading Italian shipyard in the production of semi-custom cruiser-racer sailboats, offering solid, light and fast sailboats, whose aesthetics respond to the purest Made in Italy style. Founded in 2012 by Marco Malgara, ICE Yachts builds its boats in the former CN Yacht 2000 shipyard, located near Milan and with more than 30 years of experience in the construction of large sailing yachts, both semi-custom and full-custom. Standing out for its high use of carbon and construction processes of exceptional quality, ICE Yachts range of high-performance cruisers has monohulls ranging from 52 ‘to 82’, the work of renowned Italian designer and sailor Umberto Felci, and two catamarans, 61 ‘and 67’, by the expert multihull designer, Enrico Contreas.
Silent Yachts is an Austrian shipyard dedicated to the production of ocean-class electric catamarans, which provide virtually unlimited autonomy by using solar energy to cover all your needs. Silent Yachts was founded 11 years ago by a couple, who are expert sailors and pioneers in solar energy. With more than 100,000 nautical miles in their logbooks and having crossed the Atlantic ocean, they have confirmed the validity of SILENT technology that, using the energy generated by highly efficient solar panels, allows these exclusive catamarans to be self-sufficient, in addition to requiring little maintenance and generate low costs. With a price comparable to that of catamarans of the same length but with Diesel propulsion, Silent Yachts range of catamarans has models from 55′ to 80′, which stand out for their elegant lines, large interior volume and avant-garde technology in the use of solar energy. This year, the Austrian Silent Yachts shipyard has won a number of the most prestigious international awards.
