New hall and busy events programme awaits.
The 51st edition of Boot Düsseldorf, the world’s largest indoor boat show, will be bigger than ever and will include a new hall and new events. The show runs from January 18-26 at Messe Düsseldorf.
This year there will be 1,900 exhibitors from 71 countries across all aspects of the global marine leisure and sports market. A number of more distant locations such as Palau, Papua New Guinea and Micronesia will share in this massive show, which extends across 17 halls including the new Hall 1. Around 250,000 visitors will attend Boot Düsseldorf from over 100 countries, including more than 2,000 media representatives.
Among the yacht-related events held as part of this marine jamboree will be two new events. The first is a Sea Tourism Summit which is being held on January 17 and is a joint event between Boot Düsseldorf and Economist Events.
On January 21, another new conference will take place looking at the superyacht market in a meeting run jointly between Boot Düsseldorf and the UK conference organiser, Quaynote Communications.
In terms of yachts there is as usual a complete range from smaller superyachts down to RIBs, kayaks and small boats. The list of brands is a ‘who’s who’ of the global yachting and boatbuilding industry with only the very large superyacht builders not being present because their craft cannot be accommodated in the halls.
Complementing the actual boats and yachts is a vast array of equipment, accessories, engines and systems. For anyone going on the water, there is something for everone at this show.
Boot Düsseldorf is also the world’s largest watersports event with some 230,000sq m of stand space devoted to traditional and new sporting options from all parts of the world. This includes diving, surfing, fishing and others.
The new Hall 1 will serve as a home for motoryachts from 10m-20m (30ft-60ft). Here will be a wide selection of models, including everything from Dutch steel yachts from Linssen to larger models from Jeanneau, Beneteau, Bavaria, Sealine and Greenline to name a few.
In Hall 3 there will be a focus on “starting boating” from the smallest craft upwards. Professional assistance and tips from experts will be available to all recreational boating beginners. The ‘start boating’ project has been initiated by Boot Düsseldorf.
The growing ‘superboats’ market segment of luxury tenders, chase boats and shadow boats will be on display in Hall 5. Exclusive brands such as Sacs, Wally, Frauscher, DeAntonio, Boesch, Fjord, Windy and Anvera will be presenting their latest developments.
Hall 6 will be home to the larger yachts. Never before have so many large yachts from 80ft-96ft in length been exhibited at boot. They have come to Düsseldorf from places like the Caribbean or Turkey, for instance, on transport ships such as the Dutch Molengraat operated by yacht transporter Seven Stars based in Rotterdam. They were then moved on flatbed trucks to Hall 6, which continues to be the home of the luxury segment at boot.
