The first public Cleanwave fountain with filtered drinking water, sponsored by a private donor and installed by EMAYA on July 19, has already provided more than 6,500 liters of water to citizens who have refilled their bottles during the first weeks of use. This is an estimate reduction of about 12,000 of ½ liter-bottles or up to 18,000 bottles of 33 cl of single-use plastic, with just ONE fountain!!!

EMAYA has already agreed to install two additional fountains in two different neighbourhoods, with final locations still pending. Our aim is to have more fountains installed throughout the Balearics, as an effective & immediate measure to reduce single-use plastics consumption.
