Swiss company Finsec AG is building a new marina on Albania’s Kalaja e Turrës peninsula on the Adriatic Sea that will form part of a luxury complex. According to company representatives, the marina and service area are scheduled for completion in the first half of 2021.

“As of now, 70% of the landfilling for the marina village, hotel and dry dock area is complete. Currently, the breakwater construction is being prepared in collaboration with international firms,” says Sabrina Zbinden, a spokesperson for the developer. “The real estate area will be launched in 2023. Right now, we are in negotiations with leading companies for yacht maintenance.”

The new marina will offer more than 700 berths, 30 to 40 of which will be designed for yachts of more than 30m (98ft) in length, Zbinden said.

According to Finsec, Porto Albania is the largest investment in the history of the country’s tourism industry. The project will include a harbour area, residential site, canal villas, a retail area, and a five-star hotel.
