Join us at the ACREW Lounge during the Palma Superyacht Show for 5 days of learning, networking and socialising!
Workshops
28th April – 2nd May 2017
Workshop highlights at this year’s show include wine tasting, interview techniques, water supervision and troubleshooting onboard electronics.
Last year’s wine tasting workshop was so popular (over 40 attendees) that it was standing room only! Crew commented that the workshop was ‘funny, friendly, dynamic and useful’. Workshop facilitators, No.12 Fine Wines are back this year to deliver another amazing workshop as well as provide blind tastings throughout the event in the ACREW Lounge.
The Superyacht Knowledge Network
1st May 2017
13:00 – 17:00
The Superyacht Knowledge Network is a new event from ACREW that enables knowledge sharing and mentorship in an active, meaningful and enjoyable way. Mentoring is the guidance offered by an experienced individual; we can all benefit from such guidance throughout our professional lives. ACREW has invited captains and industry professionals experienced in precise areas of superyachting to mentor industry peers so they may develop towards their own career goals and objectives.
Each expert will have a specialist subject that they are willing to talk about to individuals or small groups in a welcoming and relaxed setting, helped along with canapes and drinks! Diverse topics such as life after yachting, regulation updates, environmental responsibility, team motivating and administration onboard will be tabled for private or group discussion.
Head of Learning for ACREW, Jim McGrath comments “The informal, networking atmosphere helps build real relationships and has the key advantage of the learner or enquirer driving the direction of the conversation.” There should be an expert on hand to be able to answer ANY question related to superyachting!
Managing Partner Abi McGrath adds “This approach will really suit the more experienced crew who have specific questions relating to their practice. Our expert panel also very much enjoy chatting through issues rather than always presenting them from the front”.

Lunches from The Galley Club
Get treated to lunch each day in between our packed workshop programme. As well as dishing up outstanding food each day for the hungry workshop attendees, The Galley Club Cookery School will be giving demonstrations on carving, silver service and the perfect paella!
With happy hours, live music and the usual friendly atmosphere, the ACREW Lounge at Palma Superyacht Show 2017 will be a fantastic hub for crew to learn, relax and enjoy!
Pantaenius at the Palma Superyacht Show
Slowly but surely the Mediterranean superyacht season 2017 is starting and Pantaenius is getting ready for the Palma Superyacht Show 2017. After many interesting insurance consultations with captains, it has become quite clear for the yacht insurance experts that far too many superyacht insurance policies raise questions rather than answering them. Complex wordings and imprecise terms make insurance evaluation a difficult task for non-professionals who are not dealing with such issues on a daily basis. Gaps that go unnoticed in the insurance cover however, can have serious implications for everybody involved in operating a superyacht.
This is why during the coming Palma Superyacht Show the dedicated Pantaenius staff will be at disposal for individual face-to-face consultations. Visit Jens Ploch and his team at booth SY08 and bring your existing policy for a free check of the scope of coverage, the hidden small print or crucial exclusions affecting your position as an owner or captain.
