The pontoons of a RIB are the first part to be damaged by the sun and use. But you don’t need to purchase a whole new boat, you can increase the lifespan of your RIB with a re-tube. With a new set of tubes you can keep the fiberglass hull, the engine and all of the rigging of your boat.
Seasafe was the first company to bring this technique to Mallorca. They were instructed by Italian specialists and since some years ago they are manufacturing tubes in their own workshop in Santa Ponsa. They work with different brands and models using templates to adapt to every RIB.
The material used is high quality hypalon coated fabric, this is the only material Seasafe uses as is the best one: it lasts for many years giving very good results.
Re-tubing is not only for old pontoons it can be also done to improve the quality of a PVC RIB. To change the tubes for hypalon ones is a way to increase the value of a RIB.
This is a personalized work so the client can customize their own RIB choosing color, components and configuration. Seasafe can offer a wide choice of different rubbing strakes, handles, wear patches, laser cut name patches and other accessories. Once the tube is finished the client can visit the workshop to choose the position of the accessories. To carry out the complete job two or three weeks are necessary, this period includes the fitting to the hull what takes approximately one week.
Not only tubes can be manufactured, Seasafe can also make different size fenders and any other inflatable item as parking for ski jets, etc.
Besides re-tubing and pontoon repairs, Seasafe specializes in marine safety. They service equipment such as liferafts and lifejackets and supply a wide range of products related with the safety at sea. It’s an approved service station by the Dirección General de la Marina Mercante and by many safety equipment manufacturers as Plastimo, Lifeguard, Baltic, Arimar, Spinlock, Eurovinil, etc.
