The superyacht builder says construction of the first Tankoa S501 progresses on schedule for her delivery in April 2017.

Tankoa Yachts has released a construction update of the first Tankoa S501 currently in build at the shipyard in Genoa. The superyacht builder reveals this project progresses on schedule to be delivered on time in April 2017.

The Italian shipyard says that fairing of the hull and most of superstructure of this 50m yacht stands at 90% including the spry fairing. Both pieces should be completed and sanded by mid July.

The shaft struts have been installed and laser aligned. The rudder supports been welded to the bottom and the installation of the rudders is complete as well as the hard top.

Lower deck sound insulation and floating floors have been completed as well as the wiring on this deck.

Insulation and floating floors on the main deck is also taking shape and stands at 85% completion with wiring well underway.

The upper deck sound insulation is now ready at 90% wiring operations will be completed by the end of July.

In addition, lower deck floors are being prepared for the joinery and wall paneling is at 95% completion. The shipyard has also started the installation of the furniture.

All engine room equipment has been fitted, insulation and anti-vibration materials are in and connections of all equipment is underway and will be followed by installation of the exhaust systems and engineer’s control room.

Tankoa has also revealed that the client has signed off on cabins mock-up and has presented Margherita Casprin, who is in charge of interior design, with new ideas. “So far, all challenges have been successfully achieved including incorporating onyx, brass inserts in modern rare wood into the design of every bathroom,” the shipyard says in a statement.
