Lee Marine, a Thailand-based yacht brokerage house, has signed a contract for a 69.5m (228ft) motoryacht with Feadship. The deal was concluded through Joshua Lee, founder and managing director of the Phuket-based company. This order joins three superyacht new build contracts the company inked earlier this year.
In addition, Lee Marine has been commissioned to oversee the three-year build process with Hans Doodkorte as the onsite project manager at Feadship’s De Vries, Aalsmeer shipyard.
“We have a first-class team in place and are already over one year into a seamless and pleasing build process for a very happy owner,” says Lee. “This is an exciting addition to Lee Marine’s superyacht new build division,” he concludes.
Work on the latest new build has been underway for some time now. Based on information presented by Feadship at the recent Singapore Yacht Show, IBI — SB’s sister tittle — understands that this new order will be delivered next year or in 2018.
Naval architecture will be undertaken by De Voogt and interiors will be a work of Redman Whitely-Dixon. The new build will also have the ability to undertake expedition-type cruises.
The new order sees Feadship strengthening its presence in the Asian market. The Dutch builder is currently working on five yachts in the 30m-45m (98.5-148ft) range for local owners, including one based in Hong Kong. The first of the five, the 44.2m (145ft) Moon Sand, was delivered late last year.
Lee Marine officially opened its new head office at AO Po Grand Marina in Phuket during the Thai Yacht Show in February. In addition to the new office the company operates across five different locations.
