This new bar has recently opened its doors after the change in ownership and name. The new name is ETOH(chemical formula for alcohol).

This is a bar with a difference, with a great range of drinks as well as some excellent Tapas.

ETOH is run by Bogdan known as Bob, a very personable nice guy with a very good track record in business.

Now yacht crews have a place to enjoy a large range of drinks, with the widest range of specialist gins I have ever experienced, Blackwood Vintage, Bluecoat, Star of India, Ampersand 209, along with the usual suspects of Bombay, Seagrams etc etc

ETOH is currently in the competition arranged by the prestigious Scotish distillery The Macallan which is establishing the top 10 cocktail bars in Palma. Etoh’s entry is called “Bugs Bunny”. Pop along and try one !

The wine we chose was a Mallorcan wine called “El Columpio” a Red wine from the Binnisalem Tiana Negra bodega. An excellent choice for the strong tastes of the food which was to follow.

The Mussels in a Martini Bianco sauce caught our eye. These were big and came in a cream sauce with herbs, and were very good indeed. We followed these with a “Trampo”(a local dish, salad with finely cut/diced peppers, tomatoe, cucumber ) topped with “boquerones” which are basically white anchovy.

This was followed by a pate of foie with an orange marmalade and mascarpone cheese sprinkled with grated crystals of Campari. Yummy !Screenshot 2015-12-26 13.08.43

Finally we ate a trio of Tzatzeki, Hummous, Tabule and Greek Calamata olives, served with pitta bread. All this polished off with the red wine was a lovely way to take in the busy atmosphere of ETOH and its helpful owner Bob. This is certainly a place to try for both food and drinks and I’m sure will have a successful future.
