Hi Everyone,
The Driving Mallorca Rallysprint 2015 is now getting closer with only 8 days left for the action to begin. For those who have not yet signed up, you only have until tomorrow, Saturday 24th at 11:00, to join this event which will prove to be a lot of fun.
As you all know this is the first Closed Road Rally that we have organised so we are learning day by day and some things only become clearer as the day approaches. So before we can begin the fun there are a few important points to know:
Safety Requirements
1) All participants must be wearing a safety crash helmet during the closed road section of the rally.
2) All cars will need to have 2 warning triangles and 2 high visibility vests.
3) Seatbelts and 2 cutters/window smashing tool.
4) Every car has to have a fire extinguisher. 4 Kilos is mandatory, 2 x 2 kilo extinguisher is also possible. They must be secured to the car.
5) Correct insurance, registration documents and valid ITV or foreign equivalent documents. These need to be in the car at all times.
Rally Entry Rules
1) All drivers and co-pilots must have a current FIA or FAIB Rally Driving License for the event. Please note that if you don’t have a rally license you will not be allowed to enter the Rally so please make the effort.
2) All cars must pass scrutineering which will be held on Friday 30th October at the Parc Fermé (The Boathouse) between 18:00 and 21:00 with the list of approved cars to be published at 22:00.
What’s included in the entry fee
1) All rally insurance for the event.
2) All marshals and organizational team.
3) All measuring equipment and transponders.
4) Ambulance Presence.
5) Free lunch with be provided in Soller (no alcohol will be permitted for obvious reasons).
6) Prize Giving and Prizes.
7) The Boathouse will host a BBQ and there will be a DJ at the Parc Fermé. Food and drinks are NOT included in the entrance fee.
Rally details
Please note all subscription forms must be completed and emailed to us or handed in before 11:00 tomorrow, Saturday 24th.
Paul Madden and (Dr) Jaime Carbonell will be at The Boathouse between 10:00 and 11:00 tomorrow to collect the following and complete the medical examinations:
– Completed subscription forms and any outstanding fees
– Completed rally driving license forms (complete with photo and driving license fee 80 euros for pilot (PPP) and 60 euros for co-pilot (PPCO).
We should be able to arrange to issue the appropriate FAIB rally driving licenses by Friday 30th.
Please note that if you don’t have a rally license you will not be allowed to enter the Rally so please make the effort. Jaime can complete your medical examination free of charge if you have not already arranged it elsewhere. (Normally this is 40/50euros).
Depending on the entry list the classes (regularity, show car, competition) will be forwarded to you on Saturday 24th.
On Saturday 31st participants must be at the Parc Fermé (The Boathouse) by 08:00 and should arrive back at the Parc Fermé by 17:20 for final verification.
The prize giving is scheduled for 20:00 at the Parc Fermé.
At present we have 18 confirmed entries and the list will grow now the days are getting closer. This is a fun event and we look forward to seeing everyone on the 30th/31st October.
