August Restaurant Review : “LOS AMIGOS DPACO”

Hamburger Joints abound in their hundreds in any major city including the International Mc. D, Buger King etc etc & Palma de Mallorca is no different.

We were invited to “Los amigos DPaco” (Friends of Paco), because the owners have opened a large and modern version just around the corner from the Santa Catalina Market and want to appeal to the yachties that wine and dine in this area.

“Los amigos dPaco” only uses the very best beef and freshest products and that was very noticeable in what we ate. They also have vegetarian versions and vegan which I found clever on their part as one of our party chose one to try !

In their calle Industria restaurant they have the BIG FOOT CHALLENGE which has now become famous, and if you think you can get through 2.5 kilos of hamburger with smoked bacon, cheese, egg, and everything else that comes with it, in 40 minutes you will go into their HALL OF FAME which includes the T-shirt, your picture on their web, & more to the point NOT PAYING for it. So go on go for it.

We modestly went for the Pata Negra which is 200grms of prime beef, with Jamon Iberico and Manchego cheese, topped with crispy onion rings. This was ample and really filling.

One of our colleagues went for Va´Be (Going well in Mallorcan dialect) again prime beef with Mallorcan sobrasada (red mallorcan sausage) Mahones Cheese with a topping of homemade cherry tomatoes marmalade with thyme also added to make it into a delicious option.

Finally our vegetarian friend chose Pumpkin Burger. He assured us it was very good. The pumpkin was roasted with a slight touch of curry, and with a crispy texture , and was accompanied by a homemade sauce of aromatic herbs.

We accompanied all this with a very good bottle of red organic Mallorcan wine which was excellent, and well priced.

Starters were served + ice cream at the end but I’m too ashamed to go into all that we were truly stxxxxd by the end of the evening.

“Los Amigos dPaco” will deliver to your boat, & throw in a bottle of Rioja for any orders over 35€

Any old hamburger joint it aint, Give it a try. I can recommend it.
