Dörries Yachts has agreed upon a lease of construction facilities within the Maritime Industry and Business Park “Volkswerft Stralsund”, marking an important milestone in the company’s continued growth and significantly expanding its capabilities across refit, conversion and new build support projects.
The agreement provides Dörries Yachts with access to one of Northern Germany’s established maritime industrial hubs, combining the company’s superyacht expertise with extensive infrastructure, direct water access and a highly skilled regional workforce.
Located on a 50-hectare maritime industrial site, Volkswerft Stralsund offers extensive production facilities, heavy lift capabilities, direct road, rail and sea logistics, and access to a ship lift capable of handling vessels up to 34 metres wide and 290 metres in length. The site is also supported by a well established network of maritime suppliers, specialist contractors and engineering companies.
For Dörries Yachts, the move represents a significant expansion of operational capability, particularly in the refit and conversion sector.
The facility provides access to heavy lift crane capacities of up to 1,000 tonnes, extensive workshop and outfitting areas, specialist production facilities and direct waterfront access, creating an ideal environment for technically demanding projects.
Beyond the physical infrastructure, the collaboration places Dörries Yachts within an established maritime ecosystem. Approximately 20 industrial and maritime companies are already based within the Volkswerft complex, creating a collaborative environment supported by skilled trades, specialist suppliers and decades of shipbuilding knowledge.
As demand continues to grow for high quality refit, conversion and custom build projects, the additional capability strengthens Dörries Yachts’ ability to support owners, representatives and industry partners across a wider range of services.
The company expects to commence operations from the facility immediately and will continue sharing updates as further developments take shape.
