Island Global Yachting (IGY) and Ocean Capital Partners (OCP) have announced the commencement of construction work to develop IGY Marina Málaga. This new marina will offer Superyachts convenient berthing in the centre of one of Spain’s most vibrant cities.
IGY and OCP have closed on a construction loan which they say demonstrates their ongoing commitment to, and confidence in, the project and market. The marina will include new amenities and upgraded infrastructure.
Once complete, IGY Marina Málaga will accommodate vessels between 24m and 180m.
Málaga is one of Spain’s fastest growing cities, and its proximity to both the Atlantic and Mediterranean seas. The region’s climate, with 325 days of sunshine per year on average, makes Málaga an attractive winter haven with year-round berthing available in addition to long-term slip opportunities.
The marina will be developed over the summer of 2021, enabling vessels to take advantage of winter berthing starting later this year.
