ACREW St. Maarten attracts record numbers of Crew!

ACREW’s first event in St. Maarten, saw over 250 crew attend 16 professional development workshops on diverse topics medical emergencies at sea to 1920’s Dancing!

CREW Eager to learn

The enthusiastic participation of crew throughout the entire event was inspiring, especially when attending the workshops. The topics addressed in ACREW workshops are identified by crew as areas they would like to know more about.

Jens PlochManaging Partner of ACREW Abigail McGrath says “It makes for a perfect learning experience. We [ACREW] find industry experts to deliver workshops and then offer the learning free to crew. Nobody is forcing crew to attend so they are there purely because they value learning and want to get better at their jobs. We had 48 crew turn up for a medical workshop and 53 for a floristry workshop!”

The event was a record breaker for ACREW with 60 crew in attendance for the Prohibition Cocktails workshop facilitated by Jasmin Rutter, Brand Ambassador at Diageo. MedAire’s Emergency Response sessions attracted 48 crew participants and other workshops including Ropes & Rigging and Floristry welcomed over 50 attendees

R & R for Crew

The event provided opportunities for crew to let their hair down and relax after a busy festive period. The Crew Prohibition Party held in the Princess Casino at Yacht Club Port de Plaisance saw crew enthusiastically embrace the 1920’s theme by dressing up and dancing the night away!
