Long Island Marina On The Market For US$8.8m

12-acre parcel on the Peconic Bay has been a commercial property since 1887

Brick Cove Marina, an historic peninsula property at the North end of Long Island, New York, has been listed for sale at US$8.8m, according to CurbedHamptons.com and the listing agent.

The 12-acre parcel on the Peconic Bay has been a commercial property since 1887, when it was the location of the Clinton Dewitt Sage Brick Company, from which the current business derives its name.

“Sometime in the 1930s, the brick pit was breached and it became the basin where the boats are kept,” Jennifer Place of Daniel Gale Real Estate told IBI. “The basin is four-acres and there are eight-acres upland,” she explained.

The basin includes 138 boat slips while the property contains an office, workshop, indoor storage, several sheds, a pool and pool house, three tennis courts and a private 680-foot bayfront sand beach. There is also a single-family dwelling.

Place told IBI, the marina has been a family-run concern for more than two decades and “the owners decided it was time to move on.”

Online real estate site Zillow estimates the property to be worth between US$12m and US$17m, according to CurbedHamptons.com.
