America’s Cup: Multihull or Monohull?

The Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron, as the winner of the 35th America’s Cup, and Circolo della Vela Sicilia, as the Challenger of Record, have announced that a new monohull class will compete for the 36th America’s Cup.

Not since the 32nd edition in 2007 had monohulls raced for the Auld Mug. Here’s been the recent multihull history:

2010 – 90-footers
2013 – 72-footers
2017 – 49-footers

Do you endorse the decision to race in a new class of high-performance monohulls or should the next event, anticipated to be held in 2021, continue in foiling, wing-powered, speedy multihulls?
