Gardienage is a caretaking service for yachts that generally do not have a full time crew. This includes boats that are actively used by their owners, also boats that are for sale. This is a turnkey service for owners that want to spend more valuable time on the water and less time cleaning bilges or making repairs.
We understand that each yacht and its owner are different; therefore we offer a fully customisable ‘Gardienage’ package to suit each vessel. This will ensure the boat is kept clean and in running order, thus decreasing downtime for repairs during the sailing season whilst maintaining the yachts value.
As part of the service, one of our main priorities is to look after the boats safety. Our Gardienage manager is an experienced captain who is constantly monitoring local weather conditions. In the event of bad weather, the boat is carefully checked that all lines and fenders are secure and boats either side will not cause any damage. Our team are on call 24hrs a day to respond to any emergencies that may occur.
In addition to this service, we will keep a log of all systems on board and their operational status. If any fault is found, this is directly reported to the owner with a plan of action and an estimate for any repairs. We also create a service record to establish a maintenance schedule for all systems and safety equipment. We will inform the owner well before any service is due, providing estimates and scheduling the work as to not cause any conflict.
Our dedicated team of professionals, work as an independently managed unit of the Palma Watch group. We benefit from an in house workshop at our disposal, utilising the skills of marine engineers and shipwrights to undertake anything from minor repairs to full refits. This enables us to minimise the use of subcontractors, therefore having full control of the work onboard and keeping a close eye on cost.
Yachts that are up for sale, we will work closely with the selling broker to make sure the boat is also clean and presentable prior to viewings. We can also offer captain services for sea trails and surveys prior to purchase.
