“Get away from the World. Leave it behind you”. This is the slogan used by the French sailboat manufacturer, Dufour Yachts, to present their Grande Large range, designed especially to enjoy comfortable cruising on yachts between 31 & 56 feet (between 9 & 17 metres). At this year’s Valencia Boat Show, held from 31st October to 6th November, Dufour will be exhibiting the following boats from the Grande Large range: Dufour 350GL, Dufour 382GL, Dufour 412GL, Dufour 460GL and Dufour 512GL.
Founded in 1964 in la Rochelle by Michael Dufour, this French shipyard has been building production cruising yachts for more than 50 years. Dufour, an engineer with a love of sailing, was convinced that combing new technologies and innovative materials with the adventurous spirit of the nautical world was the future of sailing, and the pinnacle of pleasure.
Dufour 512GL: 2016 novelty
The 512GL is a revisited version of the existing Dufour 500 model, which integrates all the latest innovations and features of the latest Grande Large models. Thanks to the fully equipped exterior galley and spacious sun deck, she’s an excellent boat for cruising in comfort and easy manoeuvring.
Dufour 460GL: A new benchmark
Just one year after its launch, this 46 feet yacht has become one of the most desirable of the fleet, combining both high performance and comfort. Born from the collaboration between Italian architect Umberto Felci and the Dufour Development Team, the 460GL has become the new benchmark for the brand.
Dufour 412GL: Evolution
An evolution of the famous 410, the Dufour 412GL optimises the exterior space, which integrates a barbecue, sink and refrigerator and features a new layout, allowing you to make the most of the cockpit’s space. It also benefits from new equipment for easier sail handling, in particular the fixed bowsprit for when mounting downwind sails.
Finally, the Dufour 382GL and Dufour 350GL, at 38 and 25 feet respectively, are well-balanced yachts which aim to maximise comfort on board no matter how the sailing conditions are or which sails are used. Inspired by their passing for sailing, the French brand present two high-performance yachts which borrow both the style and technology from Dufour’s larger sailboats.
Next Autumn during the Valencia Boat Show, the Marina Real Juan Carlos I will become the place to be for those who love the sea and water sports. It’s a ‘must go to’ event to see first-hand all the latest developments in the sector.
