Exclusive: Repeat client signs third project with Bilgin Yachts

By Merijn de Waard

On 15th October 2015 Bilgin Yachts signed a contract for what will be their largest superyacht to date, and one of the largest yachts ever built in Turkey. The 80 metre vessel will be the third Bilgin superyacht for the repeat client and her exterior lines are from the drawing board of Unique Yacht Design.

Founded 86 years ago and currently being run by the fifth generation of the same family who established the yard, the company has made substantial investments over the years and now has the capacity to build up to four superyachts simultaneously.

This year the company delivered their largest superyacht to date, the 50 metre H2 designed Dusur. Projects currently in-build include the Bilgin 155 designed by H2 Yacht Design as well as two Unique designed Bilgin 156 superyachts which are being built on speculation.

The new 80 metre superyacht, codenamed Bilgin 263, is being built to ABS class and LY3 compliant and can reach a top speed of 18 knots. When delivered in 2019, she will be the 75th vessel build by the Turkish shipyard.
