The New Zealand shipyard Yachting Developments has signed a new order for a 38.7 metre sportsfisher superyacht known as Hull 1015. She becomes the second superyacht project signed by the yard in 12 months, following the order of the 33.5 metre sloop, Hull 1012 in September 2014.

Work on the project will get underway immediately and he shipyard has set the delivery date for some time in 2017. Michael Peters Yacht Design took charge of the vessel’s naval architecture and exterior design, while New Zealand-based Below Decks Marine Interiors did the interior styling. The Australian company Motor yacht Build will oversee the project.

The yacht will be constructed entirely out of carbon for an experienced owner who is an international sportsfisherman. The owner decided to build the yacht with Yachting Developments due to their experience with carbon in similar projects. The yard launched their first sportsfisher, the 27.4 metre Satu, in 2012.

Hull 1015 will be constructed alongside the 33.5 metre Hull 1012, which is now over halfway complete. “It is exciting to have two such different new build projects underway, which each showcase the wide skillset we have here at the yard,” said Ian Cook, Managing Director of Yachting Developments.
