Following exclusive photographs published by SuperYacht Times last week, Dutch shipyards Oceanco and Vitters have officially announced the launch of the aluminium ketch Aquijo. The 85 metre sailing yacht features designs by Tripp Design Naval Architects, and is the outcome of a successful cooperation between the two renowned shipyards, where both partners have combined their respective expertise.
Oceanco and Vitters Shipyard report that they worked closely through all stages of this custom project. During the Design Engineering Study, the specification was defined by the yards’ teams, in close cooperation with the naval architect, the Owners and their representatives, Master Yachts.
Built under the project name P85, the German studio Dölker + Voges is responsible for her interior design. Inside, she accommodates up to 12 guests in total over four decks in a high volume superstructure which the brands state has been designed to blur the boundaries between indoor and outdoor living, with long, clear sight lines throughout.
The unique steering system has been developed by Vitters, and works by translating the hydrodynamic forces on the underwater rudder blades directly to the flybridge steering wheels, providing the helmsman with immediate feedback.
