Timed to coincide with the Palma Superyacht Show which opens on the same day (Thursday 30th April,) the Quaynote events are giving lots of professionals from the global superyacht industry a great excuse to travel to the sunshine island, and make maximum use of their time there. They will be able to catch up on latest developments in Refit & Repair of yachts, or to discuss career issues and charter regulations for Captains & Crew, as well as visiting the highly successful yacht show, where up to 60 yachts of over 24 metres are expected to be on show during the 3rd Edition of the event.
As an example sessions on Commercial Contracts, Project Management, Interior Designs and Application of Coatings give a wide appeal to the Refit & Repair day, which finishes with a raft of really practical Champagne Round-Table sessions, each one hosted by experts in their field, who will invite questions and comments from smaller dedicated groups of ten or 12 delegates.
These include subjects on products and processes related to refit projects such as: Waste Water Treatment, Fire & Safety, Heating Ventilating & Air Conditioning, Flat Panel Satellite Antennas, Fireproofing of Interior Furnishings, Specifying for Interior Refits, Antifouling Paints, and the Captain’s Role in a Typical Refit Project, which is bound to attract some lively discussion!
On day 2, captains and crew will be able to hear information and panel discussions on matters such as: Developing a Career Path, Interior Crew Training, The New Captains License Explained, Changing STCW Requirements, MLC Compliance Issues, Duty of Care, Firefighting Onboard, Superyacht Crew Recruitment, and a practical demo on engine/generator temperature control.
