Preparations are now well underway for this year´s Oris Rally Isla Mallorca, which is being held on Thursday March 12th to Saturday 14th. The Rally Parc Ferme will be at Puerto Portals (alongside the Captain´s Tower) and will be restricted this year to competing cars to relieve congestion.
There will be 14 challenging stages across the island including a number of firsts. Stages will be publically announced one month before the Rally. Activity will build up at Puerto Portals on Thursday 12th with cars arriving during the day for scrutineering.
The Rally will start at approximately 19:00 with the cars setting off at intervals for the first stage in the West of the island. The start line will be along the Tristan´s – Flanningan´s quayside with the cars then turning left and leaving the Port. Expect the first cars to return around 20:30. On Friday and Saturday the Rally will start at 09:00 with the first cars returning at around 18:00.
The organisers are expecting 90-100 cars in the Rally this year. As the Islander went to press, Driving Mallorca members are entering 13 cars in 4 different Classes: Competition, Competition 0 Class, Regularity, Supersport and Parade.
