The 2014 edition of the Marine Equipment Trade Show starts today, lasting until Thursday 20th November. The world’s largest show of its kind, METS will be welcoming over 20,000 marine industry professionals to the Amsterdam RAI Exhibition and Convention Centre.
In addition to welcoming a record number of exhibitors this year, METS also presents a larger and more diverse knowledge programme than ever before. From the presentations on the Innovation Stage and Waterfront Stage to the dedicated Young Professionals programme, experience and best practices will be shared throughout the Amsterdam RAI complex.
Being introduced for the first time this year, the Innovation Stage is part of the brand-new Innovation LAB platform, in which president of Monte Carlo Yachts, Carla Demaria, will be speaking. The Innovation Stage will see outboard engine producer Mercury Marine present its very latest take on optimising marine engine designs, as well as featuring presentations by the seven DAME award category winners, a workshop by IBI and ICOMIA on ‘New Technologies & Manufacturing’ and a wide range of Materia presentations. Another keynote demonstration from Green Marine will showcase its vision on the future of custom yacht building.
The Marina & Yard Pavilion (MYP) is dedicated to all kinds of equipment for marinas and boatyards, and will be home to the Waterfront Stage. Over the first two days of METS this stage will feature eleven different presentations by leading companies in the sector. The METS Young Professionals Club is designed to encourage and inspire the next generation and offers meet & greets with industry leaders, various guided tours and speed networking sessions.
