Yacht Supplier Gourmet Deliveries to Provide Support at Cogs For Cancer 2014

cogs for cancer 2014To help combat cancer yacht suppliers at Gourmet Deliveries are supporting a charity bike ride Cogs for Cancer 2014, which will be held from 4 to 10 October. This year the bike ride would go from Ancona in Italy to Antibes in France. With over 18,000 metres of vertical ascent in six days, Cogs for Cancer ride is not for the fearful.

Just as last year, when yacht provisioning experts Gabi, Helen and Angelique provided en route support for the Cogs 4 Cancer riders keeping them well fed and hydrated, this year “pink ladies” from Gourmet Deliveries will take care of the cyclists every step of the way to make sure they have a healthy diet.

“We support the riders all the way through: we book their hotels, take care of their diet and even cook for them. We look after the cyclists to make it easier for them,” says Gabi Gruber, co-founder of Gourmet Deliveries.

Cogs for Cancer is a self-funded charity bike ride, organized to raise money for cancer charities in France and the UK. All funds raised online will be donated to Cancer Research UK, while money raised in France will go to two local charities – ISIS and Lenval children’s cancer unit hospital in Nice.  Just as Gourmet Deliveries, the international team of riders comes from the yachting industry.  Cyclists have individual sponsors, ranging from leading yacht brokerages, such as Y.CO, to HSH Prince Albert II.

An absolute success of Cogs for Cancer 2013 resulted in more cyclists joining the cause this year.  This October 16 cyclists, two of whom are females, will be completing this complicated track.

“We are so very happy that the Gourmet girls are back once again to support C4C 2014. Their help last year made the ride possible – after several hours in the saddle it was an absolute joy to turn a corner and see a lunch table set up complete with table cloth and flowers – they say an army marches on its stomach, a peloton needs fuel (and lots of it) to make it to the end of each day (where there always seemed to be a nice chilled bottle of Magners waiting),” says Ben Young, Managing Director at SYM Superyacht Management.
