With the 33rd Regatta Copa del Rey just finished and the Maxi Worlds, Swan Worlds, Giriglia Rolex Cup, and the Middle Sea Race just around the corner, excitement is running high in the lead up to this next regatta season.
Vc Metalwork is busy working with many of the yachts taking part, and will be servicing and completing warranty work for the Swan 60s who will be competing in the second Swan 60 World Championships final at the Swan Worlds in Sardinia next month.
The 2014 Copa del Rey was the first time the Gazprom Swan 60 Class have competed in Palma, after the inaugural World Championship took place in Cowes, Isle of Wight, UK in 2013. The first edition of the World Championship saw Swan 60 S/Y Bronenosec crowned as the 2013 World Champions and presented with a unique Asprey crafted trophy.
As well as working with the Swans, Vc are also busy as race support getting the Mini Maxis and Wally Yachts race ready. Commercial Director James King states,
‘We are working with emergency repairs to repair winches and high load fittings for Wally Kenora and Martin 49 Moana before they head off for the Rolex Maxi Worlds in Sardinia and the Rolex Middle sea race in Malta.
It has been a busy year so far for Vc, with James King taking the position of Commercial Director and leaving his successful career as a J Class Captain, the long list of high profile design and fabrication projects completed, and the workshop expansion. With all of this under their belts it is full steam ahead and looking forward to the next yard period and the official workshop opening.
