Ideally located on the Spanish mainland directly opposite the Balearic islands, Port Denia is both a high quality, professional shipyard and a fully equipped superyacht marina for vessels of up to 130 metres.
Port Denia itself is located in the city of Denia in Alicante, Spain. Its strategic location is conveniently only 45 miles from the islands of Ibiza and Formentera, and en route from the Caribbean to the Costa Azul and Palma Mallorca. The convenience of this location makes Port Denia a fantastic base for both owners and crew alike. One of the many advantages of having the marina and shipyard so close is that when a yacht stays in Denia, owners have a shipyard, practically within a stones throw away, at their disposal.
Among the many facilities available at Port Denia are electricity up to 400 amps and fresh water; blackwater pump; diesel dock and Bunkering; 24-hr dock assistance; free RIB assistance and manoeuvring support; docking assistance; free parking beside marina; chandlery ordering and delivery; engineering and maintenance services. MTU and CAT; immigration assistance; concierge services; florist delivery services and a 27.000 m2 Refit Shipyard 1.200 Tonnes or 75m dry dock capacity – to name but a few.
The shipyard facilities are equally impressive, with 2 slipways which can haul out up to 1500 tonnes, a150 tonne travel lift, 21,000 m2 dry working area, 2000 m2 specialised warehouse space and a docking area for yachts up to 80 metres in length. In terms of refit services offered by the shipyard, services include painting projects; marine engineering; electrics and electronics; carpentry; interior design/refits; rigging projects and metalwork.
Recent refit projects undertaken at the shipyard include the 45 metre superyacht Samurai One built by Spanish shipyard, Astilleros MCIES (Oassive), which included the painting of hull and superstructure with Awlgrip coating, the stripping of axles and rudders and modifications to the superstructure and a change of location for the life rafts. The shipyard also completed the successful refit of 65.25 metre vessel, Yaakun, whose services included the painting of the bottom of hull and polishing of dead works, the replacement of shafts, bearings and couplings, control of all valves, sea-cocks and tanks, and W3 control of main MTU engines.
Representatives of Port Denia state, “Our facilities are designed to cater to all client requirements during the refit or maintenance of your vessel. We boast a professional, multi-disciplinary team with vast experience, ready to carry out the work with an optimum level of quality. The ideal position of Varadero Port Denia, located only 45 miles from the islands of Ibiza and Formentera allows us to service yachts preparing for the season in the Mediterranean or heading for the Caribbean. Denia is a cosmopolitan and vibrant town that offers many leisure activities while your yacht is in our safe hands.”
Denia is often cited as one of the most beautiful towns on the Spanish coast, and is home to an array of unique, top quality restaurants and hotels – including 1 Michelin Star restaurant – as well as two golf courses. With endless leisure activities, blue flag beaches and vibrant social life, Denia is a fantastic destination for both clients and crew.
Despite high professional standards and an ideal location, Port Denia manages to keep its prices extremely competitive, often more than half the price of neighbouring locations such as Barcelona and Palma.
