Pendennis appoint new manager in Palma

Richard Hudson has worked for the company for the past year

Pendennis has appointed Richard Hudson as general manager of its refit facility in Palma, Mallorca. Having worked for Pendennis Palma for the past year, Hudson has already created strong connections with the Pendennis fleet and will bring both engineering and technical expertise to strengthen the success of the operation.

“For over 16 years I have worked in the marine industry as yacht crew, an owner’s representative and I have delivered projects as a contractor,” he says. “Therefore, I’m able to empathise with our clients and understand their priorities.”

Hudson has had a diverse career in the marine industry, having worked as a ship’s engineering officer in the offshore oil and gas industry aboard support and survey vessels, working on cable-laying vessels and as ROV dive support.

Following consultancy roles with the Department for Transport and the Maritime Coastguard Agency, Hudson spent two years as an engineer onboard superyachts; this led him to establish a company in 2009 in Mallorca focusing on owner advocacy, engineering and project management.

Whilst running this business he assisted with Pendennis’ warranty work on Tenaz, following which he joined the Pendennis Palma team, progressing to a central role managing Fair Lady, Margaret Ann and Audacia during this past refit season.
